I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father Almighty. He will come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
*He recites it all, simply and sincerely.*
Pardon. The question was so put that it was the first thing that came to mind.

I believe in the agency of myself.
I believe in the agency of my friends.
I believe in the agency of my family.

I believe in acting with honour - with loyalty, truth, integrity, and courtesy.
I believe in the motto of our coat of arms. Nulli Virtute Secundus! It is my duty, and more.
I believe in diligence to bring to ever-increasing perfection, one's hand and eye and mind.
I believe in Public Service, and doing what one can for others.
I believe in being prepared by thought and training for Emergency, of all description.
I believe in Education - in study and learning and knowledge.
I believe in the advancement of Science and Medicine, and of course Dentistry, to ease suffering, and yes, to create new wonders.
I believe in Companionship and Collaboration, though a little wistfully, for these have seldom been mine.
I believe in my Cousin, whose image and goodness and faith in me and in God and in everyone shines like a star for me out of all external desolation.

I believe one ought to strive to be the very best one can be and the best there ever was and to continue extending the limits of that goodness up into infinity.

I do not believe in chance nor luck nor fate, despite what you might think of gamblers.
I do not believe in hope, nor tomorrow, for I cannot trust that I will arise.
I believe we must 'be true
To one another! for the world, which seems
To lie before us like a land of dreams
So various, so beautiful, so new,
Hath really neither joy, nor love, nor light,
Nor certitude, nor peace, nor help for pain...'
Ironically, in the end, the kindness of strangers will be all that keeps me.
